This post is written to be impartial and purely data based.
The initial idea for this post came after my brother made a comment that more white people are killed each year by cops than blacks. He is right, more white people are killed than blacks by police.
For easy math we will say about 500 whites and 300 blacks are killed by police.
Then I started thinking about per capita and how many people are killed from each group in comparison to that groups total population in the United States.

White Population of the United States in Millions
White People Killed by Police Per Capita of the Total US White Population
Black People Killed by Police Per Capita of the Total US Black Population
.000007 blacks killed per capita
.000002 whites killed per capita
More blacks are killed per capita.
This made me wonder if more blacks are in low income areas and that was the cause.

Whites in Poverty – 19,800,000
More whites are in poverty, but more blacks are killed per capita by police than whites.
