Backlinks from Quora are an effective way to build contextual no follow backlinks to your website. The biggest challenge with backlinks from Quora backlinks is finding questions that have already been indexed in Google and getting the backlinks you build to be indexed by Google. This post will cover both of my strategies to overcome these challenges.
How to Build Quora Backlinks That Actually Provide Value
My strategy to finding Quora questions that will actually be valuable as backlinks is to use Semrush to find Quora questions relative to the content I’m trying to rank that are already on page one of Google for long tail keywords.
First I go to semrush.com and inspect quora.com and look organic research > positions.
Next I filter the keywords by the phrases I’m going after. For this example I’m isolating “backlinks”.
The returned screen shows you all of the questions and relative keywords that quora.com ranks for related to the keyword backlinks. I take this page, and export it into a csv so that I have all of the question URLs in a spreadsheet.
I’ll then answer all the questions on page one. I’ve found these get indexed the fastest and often drive traffic to my website. For example, quora.com ranks position 1 for keyword “editorial backlink”.
So I go to the relative question URL and add an answer.
I answer the questions with a short sentence, a few tips and then link to the post I’m building backlinks for.
The URL that you get forwarded to is the link you need Google to index . To quickly get this Quora link indexed put it on your Find Us Online page. Read more about my find us online link indexing strategy.
Then request indexing from Google search console of your find us online page.
In time these Quora backlinks that you build will get indexed. Below is a screenshot of links in search console to one of my sites.
Finally, move on to the next link you pulled from Semrush. You don’t need to request indexing for your find us online page every time. Google will only crawl that link about once a month. Ask search console to crawl that page at the beginning of every month.
Are Quora links nofollow?
Quora links are nofollow links. But while they don’t contain the same power as a dofollow link, they are a great way to diversify your backlink portfolio and build linguistic context around whatever you’re trying to rank.

Is Quora good for backlinks?
Quora is great for backlinks because there is such a variety of content already ranking on Pinterest. You can quickly and effectively build backlinks to your content and the beauty of Quora is it also can be a massive traffic drive to your site.
