Our team at Reynolds + Myers works with a lot of powerful domains.
For example, one of our clients has a domain that is older than google.com (google.com is 21 years old as of writing this) and a backlink portfolio to match this age.
These domains are so powerful that Google “tells” us what it wants us to rank for.
We’re calling the model The V3 SEO Model.
The three v’s are value, verge and volume.
Value: Keywords that can create value for the organization. For example, keywords that are related to products, information prospects search for at different stages in the buyer’s journey or keywords important to brand identity.
Verge: Keywords that are on page two or three. What we’ve found is that Google signals to us what we can rank for. Keywords on page two and three can often be lifted to page one with just a little work.
Volume: Keywords that have a monthly search volume that is relatively large for the industry. Our keywords must have the potential energy necessary to create impact to our current search analytics.
When we combine these three ideas, we get The V3 SEO Model. Below is a diagram visualizing the model. The section in red illustrates what we call V3 keywords.
Once we’ve identified V3 keywords, we then build landing pages that best answer search intent for our new target keywords.
Give it 30 days, and we get results like this.
If you have questions about this model please ask. I’ll do my best to answer them hastily.
